PROPOSAL FOR EXPANSION OF TRAVELER SITE -OBJECTION MADE, CONSULTATION NOW CLOSED
Vale Of Glamorgan Council, Local Development Plan (LDP). LAND IS TO BE ALLOCATED AT LLANGAN FOR THE PROVISION OF A 2 PITCH GYPSY
AND TRAVELLER SITE.
Following the LDP Hearing Session 16, the Council has proposed that the allocation at Llangan will accommodate the need of those currently occupying the unauthorised Llangan site and one family from Wenvoe, and is also capable of expansion to accommodate more pitches in due course should the need arise.
Llangan Community Council objected to the proposed expansion of the site at Llangan and will be attended the LDP Hearing in Jan 2017.
27th Jan 2017 update
Representatives from Llangan Action, Llangan Community Council and the
current site occupant, attended the LDP hearing 25 meeting and put
forward a strong case rejecting the councils proposal to expand the
unauthorised Gypsy site at Llangan. Unfortunately no conclusion was
reached at the meeting, the inspector will now consider the arguments
before coming back to us.
21st Feb 2017 Update
The Vale of Glamorgan Council have informed Llangan Action Group of a new
public consultation on the Further Matters Arising Changes (FMAC) to
the Vale of Glamorgan Local Development Plan (LDP). As part of the
examination process, the Council will be consulting on the proposed
changes that have emerged from the further hearing sessions (including
hearing 25 Gypsy and Travellers). The 6 week public consultation period
on the Further Matters Arising Changes will run from Friday 17th
February to midnight on Friday 31st March 2017. The council are
proposing that the allocation at Llangan will accommodate the current
family and one family from Wenvoe, and is capable of further
The proposed changes relate to specific elements of the LDP Written
Statement and Proposals Maps and are set out in the Further Matters
Arising Changes (FMAC) Schedule (2017). Copies of the FMAC Schedule,
FMAC Sustainability Appraisal (SA) (incorporating the Strategic
Environmental Assessment) and FMAC Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA)

COMMUNITY SPEED WATCH SCHEME
In an attempt to reduce the speeding through our village, we
are going to start a Speed Watch campaign in conjunction with South Wales
These schemes are proven to reduce speeding through the villages and also help gain speed reducing measures for villages. We are looking for volunteers to assist Councillors and give just a few hours from time to time to the operation of the scheme. DOG FOULING ON KING
GEORGE V FIELD (TREOES MOORS)-
The Community Council have agreed not to ban dogs on the field, however will be working with the VoG and dog walkers to try and improve the situation.
ROAD SAFETY CONSULTATION - The Road safety report has now been completed and sent to the VoG Council, thanks to all those who main their issues known.
SOLAR FARM WORK HAS NOW BEEN COMPLETED -The Community Council are working with the VoG Council and Natural Resources Wales directly in order to try and resolve the issues of the state of the roads and verges, the disturbance of the flood bund and the silt that is going into the river.
NOISE COMPLAINTS FROM TREOES RESIDENTS - The Community Council are working with Bridgend CC to ensure the noise complaints from Waterton estate ARE being dealt with properly. The Council have objected to a number of planning applications and are working closely with Bridgend CC and the Treoes Action Group.
