Traffic in your community a problem? Report it by ringing 101!

April 27, 2021

The Community Council, together with your Vale of Glamorgan Councillor, has been trying to improve road safety in the area. The Community Council is firmly of the view that, for a rural area, we encounter more than our fair share of speeding traffic, the use of our villages as ‘rat runs’ by commuter to the M4 and Bridgend, and large trucks using the lanes as they leave the industrial estates on the edge of Bridgend.

We have urged the Vale of Glamorgan Council to take action and made a series of proposals that we think would significantly improve road safety for both vehicle users and pedestrians, and make our communities safer more enjoyable places to live.

Unfortunately, our efforts have been to no avail. The Vale of Glamorgan Council tells us that the traffic data does not show that we face any undue difficulties, because there are few problems reported.

If we are to make progress with this issue we need your help. If you witness any anti-social, speeding or dangerous driving, please report it to the Police by dialling 101. If you have a registration number, please provide it – but report it even if you do not. The greater the number of reports, the better the prospects that we can tackle this issue successfully.
